From Sketch to Reality: My Journey in 3D Rendering

💡 How it started

I started while working at a local design firm, but it was during COVID that I realized I could use my skills in 3D SketchUp modeling, rendering, and animation to do more. I came across a Facebook post in a designer group I had recently joined and decided to offer my services. That one collaboration became a turning point. It was a learning curve, but working with different interior designers across the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia felt like collaborating with a local team, giving me a fresh perspective on their styles, how they do it, and the interior design world in general. Doing so, honed my skills in modeling and rendering. At this point just truly grateful for where I am now but I know there’s still a lot to learn.

Why do you do what you do?

I genuinely love bringing designs to life and doing so helps me learn so much along the way despite doing it virtually. While I do not ever idolize celebrities both local and international, working with interior designers and architects feels like a dream come true whoever they might be. Honestly, I idolize them so much that I even call them queens! My respect is through the roof on the level of design icons like Kelly Wearstler, Jonathan Adler, and Kelly Hoppen, whom I dream of meeting one day. It’s a bit funny, but it’s absolutely true!

❤️ Favorite Part Of The Job

Being chosen by interior designers and architects. Despite the countless options they have whether working with local renderers or finding others online—they often choose me, and that’s something I deeply value: their trust. It’s a privilege I never take lightly. But what truly makes it special is seeing their projects succeed. Knowing I was part of their journey, even behind the scenes, is incredibly rewarding. Their success feels like my success too.

💪 What’s the most challenging part of the job

Nothing unless a designer asks me to create a concept entirely from scratch, which is an area I’m still working to improve especially material specs. However, when they share their vision and ideas with me, I can grasp them quickly and can add my magic for me to elevate the design.

It’s more about collaboration and ensuring the outcome exceeds their expectations is what matters to me. I am a bit of a perfectionist with my work.

As my mom says loving what you do is as important as doing what you love!
